As soon as my computer boots up, I start getting error messages for Internet Explorer. The message asks if I want to send an error report. The computer is not connected to the internet by any means (neither broadband, dsl nor dialup). I do have adware and spyware software installed on the computer. Is there a way to get a clean version of Internet Explorer?

Hi vip4bham,
You means that you get those errors on boot-up, or when you call Internet Explorer yourself ?

There are no "clean" versions of IE... this is why users are migrating to other browsers. Personally, I like AM Browser (former Crazy Browser) http://www.ambrowser.com/ , it uses the IE engine but never freezes since I am using it. (IE6 latest version installed on my system always close and give me the same message).

If IE is trying to load on boot, you probably have some malware trying to connect to some webpage... better check it posting a HijackThis log here and wait until someone analyse it.

Listed below is my logfile from Hijackthis. Can anyone analyze it and tell my why I constantly get popup messages of Internet Explorer errors even though I'm not connected to the Internet?

Hi again vip4bham,

As I am not specialized in HJT logs, I would suggest you to post yours on a new topic, at the "Malicious code" forum, as somebody more skilled may take a look on it.

It seems that there are some malwares running, but I am not sure about.

Chris
