Last night I had problems with my puter. Nothing would load... I couldn't get into Contol Panel, or open My documents, couldn't get online, recycle bin wouldn't open Favorite phrase: NOT RESPONDING, and had to do a three finger salute. Norton Anti virus worked, (nothing turned up) Spybot and Adaware worked, my cdburner program worked, but not much else.

A run through with Nortons Utilies brought up something it couldn't fix.

C:\Program Files\CommonFiles\installShield\Professional\RunTime\oa\oi\Intel32\DotNetInstaller.exe

cannot access file

mscoree.dll

Spybot brought up something it couldn't fix :

C\\Windows\St_Trace.log was active

Have had those two problems for weeks now, but never a problem.

I gave up trying to get anything to work, shut everything off and went to bed.

This morning everything seems to work. KNOCK WOOD

My puter is 5 years old, and I have never had any real problems.

Is it time for a tune up? I don't have the funds for a new puter, this one seems to be doing just find, and I hate the thought of someone monkeying around with it.

See Angoid's HijackThis instructions.

Get HijackThis from the link below and post the log below. I will move this post to "Malicious Code..." but their will be a link in Win98, where you first posted .
