Aurora is a new piece of slime tossed into the internet that is proving troublesome.

There is a legitimate company not affiliated with the adware that has the name Aurora and has been receiving mistaken emails from folks infected by the pest. They have devoted an entire page to the origin and removal of Aurora to protect their business name.

Here is a link to the page that they dedicated to an investigation of Aurora, who created it, and what its purpose is.

They provide a link to an independent-party who has developed a script for removing it that appears to work Here. I have not used this myself, but perhaps Ed or Angus may be interested in looking at it.

NailFix.exe is the development of the original BAT file written to delete Nail.exe, Svcproc.exe and the other files associated with this nasty. I have never seen it work as a standalone fix. At the moment, the best results are from using a combination of NailFix and a trial copy of Ewido Security Suite.
