Broadband Speed Tester
not bad!
Ironbender
Have downloaded and tested it... works fine.

Get my correct connection speed (248 instead of declared 256, but there was three computers on the net with the same modem at this moment).

Thanks for sharing it.

3071 kb/s on my RoadRunner connection.

Some other online speedtest results (click to go to the sites):

3877 kb/s

2274 kb/s (I used the LA site)

560 kb/s

2111.8 kb/s

All this shows that there are entirely too many variables to produce a true transfer rate. Just like downloading files, one site may only run at 50 kb/s, while I've had a couple sites hit 6800 kb/s. (Divide by 8 to get the more familiar kB/s rate.)

Interesting................"BUT" !!!!

The only true test would be from your ISPs local server and then it
would need to be repeated several times a day to get an average
speed.
