I should have asked this question earlier but up till today,I just lived with the fact that I'm always asked to install additional components before opening a Microsoft Office application (Word, Frontpage...)

I do not have the CD with me. What can I do to avert this in future?

There is an option on the CD to do a "complete" install. It puts everything from the cd's onto your pc..
