as stated before, i have a hard drive that i can no longer view my mail from any mail clients, and cannot view any script or images from my control panel. i get to the mail and control panels i just can't see anything but a blank screen. question, sinse i can still access my pictures and folders in the damaged hard drive. can i set it as a slave and transfer all wanted photos and stuff to a master drive without further damage? another question, are there actuall links i could download ME to place over the damaged ME, or will i need a disk to do that? i want to save all the info, jpg's and mpg's on the damaged drive so anything i do needs to have that outcome. thanks for all the help, all help is appreciated! banghead[1].gif

I think I know what your asking.

You want to set up the damaged HD(damaged OS most likly) as a slave to a working HD with an OS so you can transfer the files from the damaged HD to the working HD. If that is what your asking then yes you can do that. It shoulden't affect the system on the damaged HD. Just make sure you don't delete any important files. My suggestion would be to copy the files but not cut or delete them from the damaged HD just to be sure.

thanks fallen. i iam only transfering my photos and mpg's, not any operating files. i want to get these files to my working hard drive then see if i can repair the damaged hard drive without having to totally wipe it out but i am sure i will end up letting my dad just wipe it clean and put ME back on it. would you or anyone know what part of the OS would cause me not to see the mail and control panel? i actually am at the mail sites and the control panels yet no images or script show up ? thanks and any tips on transfering from the slave to the master would also be appreciated! keybrd.gif

One thing you may be able to do is run a system restore. A page that will show you how to do this is Here.

As far as transfering the files it should be as easy as selecting the files you want to save, pressing ctrl + C and then going to the master drive to the folder where you want the files to go and pressing ctrl + V. This will copy those files over to the master drive.
