After I installed Lavasoft's Ad-aware, whenever I boot up my XP Home system, the C:\Program Files\Lavasoft folder opens up to list the Ad-Aware SE Personal folder and just sits there, but Ad-aware does not start. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Is it listed as a startup in Msconfig? Go to Start > Run > type msconfig and OK it. Click on the Startup tab and let us know what the AdAware startup is.

I fixed it. The path of the startup file was incorrectly specified in the registry in Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. I pointed it to the right path so Lavasoft actually started on WinXP start up instead of just opening a folder. Then I unchecked it in msconfig's startup tab so it won't automatically load. Thanks.
