I have WinXP Home on my emachine (T5026) which has a Realtek soundcard. When I try to enable the Voice Chat I get this error message: "Unable to initialize your computer's audio mixer".

I did some troubleshooting such as making sure that the microphone is selected and not muted, I can record my voice and play it. So the speaker and microphone are connected correctly.

I have also tried the Yahoo Audio Setup Wizard. According to that program, my speaker, microphone and connection are okay. But I didn't pass the last test, conference. The error message is Yahoo voice chat error: Mixer Error.

I'm at the end of wits and appreciate any help.

I have not heard of this problem and id not find anything yet. Hopefully someone else has who wil be along shortly.

In the meantime, have you tried emailing Yahoo support? This could be an issue they know about that (hopefully) does have a simple solution.
