Lately when an email sent to me contains a link. I cannot open the link. I don't believe I've changed any settings. I can open an attachment just not a link. Can anyone help ?

Hi Wally1212, and welcome to SAF smile.gif

What happens when you try to follow a link from the e-mail? Does it just 'hang', or do you get an Internet Explorer window open at all?

Also, what happens if you copy the link, open up a browser window, and paste it into the address bar? Does that work?

Basically, I'm trying to eliminate the possibility of the site(s) you're trying to access being down.

Was the e-mail genuine (i.e. from a known, trusted contact) or a circular from some organisation, or (horror of horrors) spam?

This has been covered in a couple of past posts. Check this one out for a possible solution.

When I clink on the link from Outlook Express, it does absolutley nothing

If I copy and paste the link from the email to my IE address bar it does open. Any link will open from IE but just not from Outlook Express.

The emails are from trusted sources and it is not just one email that I'm having the probl;em with it is many (all emails with a link)

Hi Wally1212,

It looks as though the thread indicated by JimHolly may well rectify this.

Have you followed the advice there? Please take a look and let us know whether it cured the problem.

I did follow the advice by Jim Holly and it did work. All I did was to uncheck the DDE box.

Thanks so much
