I have a LG GSA-4163B which will burn data cds fine but when burn CD to CD it freezes at 2% I've tried different types of source cds(audio, vcd) but seems that it still freezes. I've also checked to makes sure DMA is enabled and the latest firmware is updated. Seems the media works fine for data cd but won't burn for cd to cd. This is using the latest version of NERO.

xromgear,
When you say " ......burn CD to CD" do you mean copy a CD ??
What speed are you burning the CD at ???
I use Sony/Nero to copy CDs, and even though the "default speed" is 40x I lower it to 24x for most burns and have no problems.
Try a lower speed and see what happens.

I have used Nero for at least two years, and only do fastburns. Never had a coaster yet. If you can do a standard copy from your harddrive okay, but it fails on fastburn from optical to optical drive, I would suspect your software. If it glitches on both platforms chances are one of your burners is old or failing.

Update found a few things have been working, disabling quick burn the drive works perfectly so I reads from the dvdrom/cdrom to the hard drive then burns to the burner. Now I've tried a few data cd's and they fail at the same 5% correction from my above post the freeze is at 5%. I've tried putting the burn speed to 4x and they still freeze. I also tried putting in an original audio cd which burnt fine. So it seems the DVDrom and the Burner have some error communicating, but the DVDrom has no problem putting the image on the Hard Drive. Kinda of a weird problem
