I appreciate you posting this. I loaded TM on my son's computer (XP) before he went off to college. I figured if anything could prevent the nasties, Trend could. He sets it to update automatically.

Friday he called in a panic as it was locking up and he was getting all sorts of messages. (He is in the middle of finals!) I told him shut it down and unplug ISP etc. Next morning he started it and updated and it is fine.

When you go to TrendMicro's free online virus scan, where does it download the file to? For that matter, where does Panda's online scan utility download its files to?

The files use the Downloaded Program Files folder in C:\Windows.
