hi im running windows xp home ,when I start up my system it says found new hardware (mass storage controller)but windows cant find driver for it ......whut is a mass storage controller anyway? any help would be great
efabes
It is the chip that actually controls the mass storage device (big hard drive). This can be PCI or on the mobo. It can be SCSI, RAID,

First - are your harddrives recognized by windows? If so, go into hardware manager and look for any yellow !'s. That should be the problem device. You may just need to install a mobo or pci driver.

If not, post back with your system specs...
