I have a PII 400mh with 64MB Ram and 98Se that takes an inordinately lengthy period before bringing up the desktop.

In the boot process the windows98 banner screen appears twice and then I get a BLANK SCREEN WITH A FLASHING CURSOR and it remains in this state for 90 seconds before the desktops with icons appears.

What could be causing this delay?
