I have been trying to do some basic CPU clean ups with my desktop and everytime I run my Registry Cleaner it hits a file or something because the PC just shuts down and restarts.....
Nothing else causes this. I am a total loss. Any ideas?

Welcome to SAF!
I would think it may be a running program or a problem with the registry cleaner itself. I would recommend first running it from safemode. If that does not work, you could completely remove it and then reinstall.

Thanks for the response efabes
I have tried and every registry cleaner I have used when it goes to scan files it shuts down. (I thought is might be the program to

but it seems to be something kicking off. I will try safe mode. I had not thought about that.

It happens with different cleaners and it happens in safemode?
Do you currently have any security or backup software that protects the registry? Even if uninstalled, it could have left something behind. Disable any software. If uninstalled, use regedit and the search function to search for any remaining entries.
If you never had any of the above types of programs installed, it would seem there is something in the registry that shuts the system down when accessed. It is possible (but not likely) that it could be listed in an event log. Check the logs in the registry cleaner (if any) and in the windows directory. Check for any with the current date the shut down happened.
I am not sure exactly how else you could track this down.
