Windows ME/Pentium 3
When I try to play Solitaire, I receive the message, Sol - An error has occurred in your program. If I click 'close' or 'ignore', I'm told Sol has caused an error in SOL.EXE..
After searching for help for the above problem online, I went into Control Panel, clicked on Add/Remove Programs, & then on Windows Setup intending to uncheck & eventually recheck Solitaire. However, there is nothing listed in the box in Windows Setup. When I click 'close' I'm told that Rundll32 has caused an error in SETUPX.DLL.
I'm not very computer savvy, so please provide clear nstructions. Thank you.

There are a couple of common reasons this can happen. One is spyware, especially Bonzai Buddy. This will interfere with Solitiare. The second is Instant messaging programs.
A couple of links for you to read:

The first site you suggested indicated that Bonzai Buddy, Intellipoint software or TraySaver Beta6 could be the problem. I searched 'Folders and Files' and none of these are in my computer.
The second site suggested that I eliminate Instant Messenger from the startup menu. I eliminated MSN Messenger (even though they listed AOL & Yahoo as probable problems). When I rebooted my computer & tried to play Solitaire, I received the same Sol error message.
Any other suggestions?
Thank you.

I've fixed the error in SETUPX.DLL (from advice found on the internet) & can now view the items listed in Windows Setup.
I still cannot fix my problem with Solitaire. It was suggested (online advice) that I go into Windows Setup, uncheck the box next to GAMES, reboot, & then recheck games. The problem now is that the box 'rechecks' itself when I click Apply/OK before I get the chance to reboot.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
