Hi BB,
Not sure, but you can check this out....go up to the top, click on 'Members Options, and go down and click on 'Email Settings', and see if there is a check mark next to ...Enable 'Email Notification' by default?

That, and go to "subscriptions" and double check nothing is in there as well.

Good Afternoon,
I received a PM from a moderator. The only way I knew it was I finally got around to checking my e-mail. In the past, I would get a notice when logging on to SAF.
I checked my settings and the confirmation box is checked. Any clues?
Thanks, have a great Sunday,
Chris

I haven't been getting them either, it's been a little while since I've gotten them.

I wonder if "Pop-Up Stopper" affects them?

Bad cookie? Go to the bottom of the board, and remove all cookies. Then log back in, and check your settings.

I hate being the village boob, but go to the bottom of what board?

HI Chris,
When you close out of here, you will be back to where you will see all the forums.....Announcements, Windows 95, and so on. than scroll down to the bottom, and you will see.....Delete cookies set by this board....than log back in like Dash said, and check your settings to make sure you have....."Do you wish to get a pop up notification when you get a new private message?"....set to yes.
To get to settings...go up at the top, and click on 'Controlls' by your name, than on the left side you will see 'Options' click on 'Board settings' and to the right you will see about the 'notification'
Hope this helps
Lorraine
P.S. When you're done, send me a P.M. and I'll send you one back, to see if it worked

Hi,
Pop-up blockers will block the pop-up notification. I have set a sound to notify me when they are blocked, but Firefox doesn't have this option, so I set Firefox to allow pop-ups on this site.
Hope this helps

Good Morning Lorraine,
I do not know how much or if you do any web surfing. However, if you have the Panicware Pop Up Stopper I advise against deleting it.
The ads are getting worse each day. Like Mark indicated, set it to make a noise when an ad is blocked. Or just double click the hand icon in the task bar and turn it off while in SAF.

Thanks chris for being concern, but I deleted it, OH! it was very good, in -face it was so good, I couldn't do anything. I couldn't do anything on my website, Gallery, or even when I'm surfing. If there was something on the website that I wanted to check out, nothing would happen. It even got rid of my the ieSpell icon

. I know I could disable it, but that was a nuisance, why disable it every time you tried to do something.
Maybe if I surfed all over the web, I would think about keeping it, but I don't. If it only had a place, where you could tell it to let something come through, like some of the others have, it wouldn't be so bad.
I have a couple others security programs that I'm working with now, and I have to learn how to use those first.
Thanks again Chris

I use PopupDummy, and it has an 'allowed' list. Doesn't get all the popups, but most of them. And, as with most of them, you can hold the Ctrl key down when clicking a link to let it come on through.

Thanks Jim, I'll have to check into that one
Anything with Dummy added to it must be good, I have a few Dummy books. I wish I had some stock in the Dummy Corporation.

I'm having the same problem and keep getting this message everytime I try to stop e-mail notification of any subscriptions. I get about 4-5 each day in my e-mail. I have tried to notify the site administrator, but no luck so far.
Thanks, Koye

PS:
See my error message below when I try to unsubscribe from notices.

Glad it's working for you Koye.
Sometimes, you have to do it a couple times to work, and sometimes, you have to wait a little while before trying again.

I've seen these MySQL errors before on other Invision boards, and usually they clear themselves up.
Perhaps an Admin has seen any reports the board generates and gone in to fix the problem. Usually they are data related.
I've got the Google Toolbar which has a pretty good pop-up blocker for the price (£0). Again, doesn't get them all but does get about 90% or so.
There is a little icon on it that gives you the number of popups blocked - click on it and it whitelists the currently-viewing site. So first time at SAF I clicked it to allow SAF popups through so I get my PM notifications OK.
