I have an XP Pro box that has the connection and there is an old 98 box and a Windows2000 box through a ConnectGear 5 port router. Not wireless.
My network seems to work fine for on of my DUN connections, but not for any of the others. Is there a way to fix this?
Maybe a better solution is to figure out how to keep my modem listening. USR replaced it when we could not get it to pass data properly. Some times the modem stops listening after as few as 30 seconds, and infrequently as long as an hour. I have a list of 4 or 5 different numbers to get back on and I just cycle through them.
I assume it is my problem, but have no clue as to how to fix it or where to go next.

Do you have Call Waiting and have it turned OFF?
Have you had the phone company check the line for noise? Have you replaced the phone lines from the pc to the wall jack? Do you have any cordless phones in the house?

Replaced phone line. Problem is NOT consistant and phone company claims no problems with line.
Have cordless phones, but they are not in use when on line.
Since I have been unable to find a solution to that problem it seems easire to fix the other one. Well, at least better for my level of frustration.
Is there a way I can get the network to use ICS on ALL connections?
Thanks.

Have cordless phones, but they are not in use when on line. -> Try unplugging the phone line to them "from the wall jack."

Tried that - still dropped the line. I open a status box to monitor the Received bytes and when things go slow, I check that the value there is changing. When it does not, I refresh the current page to make sure and the Sent value goes up while the modem shows outgoing data. What am I missing?
BTW, the line was dropped twice in the last 3 minutes. When I go to make another connection, I must disconnect the current one. That is why I was wondering about making ICS work on multiple DUN's.

I am fairly sure the problem has been isolated to the phone company or the ISP.
I tested another ISP in an attempt to localize the problem. That ISP was my local phone company. We did some battle after the line was dropped several times. The phone company rebuilt the line from my place to the central office based on that and other problems discovered.
In general that has helped my problem considerably, but not solved it completely. I am going to go broadband to get around this problem and solve other problems DUN gives me.
Thanks for the help.
