Perhaps me memory is going or too much rain and wind has saturated my knoggin
I thought when I received a PM from someone in the past, I got a notification when I logged onto SAF . Now I do not know it until I go into OE. Was I dreaming?

Hi chrisjea,
Go into your Control Panel here, under Options click on the Board Settings link, and under Board Display Settings you should see Do you wish to get a pop up notification when you get a new private message?. Ensure that Yes is the selection for that option, then click on the Change my Account Options button.

Thank you Patti,
Interestingly that box was checked when I went in. I unchecked,re-checked, and updated.
We shall see

Also, if you're running a pop-up stopper program, add the suggestafix.com domain to it's ignore list, or it will kill the notification.
(Since you're waiting for Ivan, you should have no fears of it, UNLESS you live in the panhandle around Panama City! It appears the main peninsula will be spared this time.)

Jim,
That answers it. The Pop Up stopper is blocking, thanks.
I live in Jacksonville and track the NOAA site. The current path is around T'hassee. They can change though. On the current track, we shall get 6-8" rain. We need zero after Francis. Working for a power company, last week was pure you-know what
Thanks

Glad you got it sorted, chrisjea. As I don't use a Popup stopper and don't opt for the PM Notification, I wouldn't have put two and two together for that one.

This evening's track is putting it almost over Pensacola now. I use a program called
Eye of the Storm that fetches the info from the storm center, then shows it on a global map. Pretty neat! Here's a screenshot of the current view....

You can zoom in and out, rotate the globe to any position, etc. I see they have an update out for it.

Thanks Jim, we will probably get directions to stand down as we only anticipate tropical wave wind and 6-8" rain (Like we need that

)
And (drumroll please) then there is Jeanne...........

Yep, although it's still designated as TD-11 on here (Tropical Depression-11).
