Another soul sent from Paretologic at their wits end and looking for some help please !!!!!!

Currently running XP Home with Norton Antivirus 2003 running in background and regular system scans too, also running NoAdware + Xoftspy + just put on CWSShredder and Hijack this (Schredder I was ok with but not too sure on the hijack this!)

Pop ups keep appearing and CWS files re-appear after deletion. I've attached the log too if anyone can give some guidance it'd be much appreciated cry.gif

Hi Norfolk n Chance...welcome to SAF.

You may have the dreaded 'invisible' CWS variant. It is fixable though (have a look at samson's thread in the Security forum). Using CWShredder, did you click on 'Fix'? It should have caught Zestyfind.

You need three programs to start with:

http://www.resplendence.com/reglite

Install and run it. Copy/paste the following into Reglite's address bar:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\\AppInit_DLLs

Click on Go, then find the "Appinit_Dlls" value in the righthand side panel, double-click on it, then copy and post what's in the following fields:

Size:

Value:

That will show us if it's that CWS variant.

Your Winsock stack has been corrupted:

O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\inetadpt.dll

Basically, a malware program has inserted its own file in the stack (for Winsock stack, read internet connectivety). You need LSPFix:

http://cexx.org/lspfix.htm

Save it to the desktop and run it. You'll see a 'Keep' box on the left with inetadpt.dll listed with other files. There will be more instances of that file, so get 'em all out. Click on the 'I know what I'm doing' box, then hilight each instance of inetadpt.dll and use the >> to move it to the Remove box on the right. Make sure this is the ONLY file you remove.

Those 01 Hosts file enumerations look like SureSeek (working from memory...could be wrong) put them there. You need Spybot Search & Destroy 1.3:

http://www.lurkhere.com/~nicefiles/index.html

Install it and check for updates (probably none as it's just out of the box). Have it fix anything flagged in red. Reboot and post a new HJT log.
