I keep a security folder with updated tools I can copy to a cd should anyone I know have problems with viruses, spyware, hijackers or whatever. Keep all the files on the cd unzipped. I constantly keep the files in the folder updated. Not only that, but trying to download some of these files on a client's dialup connected system is absurd. This way, you have what you need with you, when you need it.
Here's the list of stuff I have on a cd just for those times of need.
A folder called 'TrendMicro' with the free system cleaner and latest file pattern (which I update constantly).
Separate folders with several of the more common virus removal tools from Symantec. I place these in the TrendMicro folder.

WinsockFix.exe
A folder containing rmbox' The Rx Trojan Assistance Pack .
NoScript.exe and HTAStop.
Msconfig.exe
A copy of the new ASN.1 patch from Microsoft.
SpywareBlaster
It's also not a bad idea to have the full version of IE6 on hand. I have it in cd form from Microsoft, but you can download load it from the 'Net if you look hard enough. One place you can get it from is here.
Ohboy! I received my security update cd from Microsoft and transferred all the data to my security cd. I removed my original copies of XP SP1 and 2000 SP4 to make room for it, but now I have the ultimate cd! It just about fills the entire cd now, but I'm really glad to have these files, especially when working on a dialup connected system.
