2 updates fail one is a security update. The other a platform update.

the error code is: 800736B2

any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am running the system rediness tool now but it seems to have hung up?

next I plan on running Sysfilechkr...

any other ideas or if you know what the fix is please let me know

reading that article it looked promissing. however after downloading the 992MB file and running it all it does is open up Irfanview and states "No file loaded" and another small window stating
"Unknown file format or file not found"

so somethings not right

no luck...

spent 2 hours with MS Tech support. No sucess, They say I have to do a fresh install? that seems to be a bit extreem for just a corupted Win update file?

am I stuck having to do a fresh install?

just downloaded a Vista recovery disc and I'm going to burn it to disc. Anyone think this will work?

going to give it a try in aprox 30 minutes from this posting hopefull I'll hear back before then. If not I'll post back either on the success or failure of it..
