I know this isn't quite the usual type of question fielded in this forum, but I figure it can't hurt to ask:
I have a length of ethernet cable that is not long enough to reach the destination computer. I can't move the computer any closer, and I can't replace the entire cable (it travels through several walls). Is there a simple way to slice on another cable? I imagine I can't just strip off the insulation and screw on a wire nut... Is there some sort of simple male to male adapter that I can buy? -------------------- No better friend, no worse enemy

how long is the cable in the wall, how long will the total cable be...max length for cat5 is something like 573 feet.
