recently, i moved the computer, modem, wireless router and everything from one room to another. In the old room, everything worked fine; laptop, psp and computer. Now, i have a modem plugged into a wireless router. there are two ports being used; one for the computer and one for the xbox. since moving this into the new room, i cant connect the wireless onto anything. yesterday i bought a new laptop and it has wireless built in. the laptop can pick up other signal from nearby, but not mine even if it is i the room where the router is.
how can i find the router. it is a Zyxel NBG334W model if that helps |

Hi Dev,
Type 192.168.1.1 in your web browser to access the router settings. You may need to add this address to your Intranet zone to gain full access. Take a look here on how to set it up: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r21625274-...ing-dsl-service Chris -------------------- Please help Ana My Roots ~ My Nephew's band ~ My Online Newspaper It sounds like English, but I can't understand a word you are saying Men have become the tools of their tools. - H. if you're trying to access with a wireless connection you'll need to know the wireless access password. if you can, connect a network cable between the computer and router and the original password should work. if the original password doesn't work with a wired connection you'll need to reset the router and use the default password then setup the router for your isp. there's a small button on the back for reset.

If you don't have the password, try this:
Search for a reset button in your router (normally, a thight hole on the rear of it). With a point pen or point screwdriver, try a hardware reset. Note that you must unplug the power cord and any cables to do this. Reset it for at least 10 seconds. Did you manage to access the router ?
If you reset, all previous settings will be lost or reset to default, then you'll have to run the router wizard, if any, and re-enter your ISP addresses. If the router was working before, I would strongly suspect that the problem lies elsewhere, like in your laptop settings... If you have a system restore point prior to the problem, I would try it before doing anything else. Or maybe the router was unplugged for a long time and lose its settings ? The internal Sharp el334mb battery may de gone... Can you run the router connection wizard ? Can I just say that sometimes it can be the case that if you have a wireless 54Mbps usb network interface and a 108mbps if you move rooms some wireless devices do not actually generate and or collect a signal through your wall as certain materials are causing a blockage of connectivity since it all runs on frequency.
IF you ISP can not see your router then I would say that there may be a problem with your ROUTER. AS suggested by Surfer a reset would not hurt, i understand that you may not be sure on what to do next however what will you do if you have a power outage ????? it will be reset ANYWAY. so I suggest that you find all your cd's that came with everything to do with your router and your other connections and go ahead and reset your router and then install the software for your router again via the CD that came with it. If you don't know what to do, please so not panic, the installer on the cd will step you through on what to do next to get things going again. DO you have other PC's that access the router apart from you 360 and ps ?? |

i have sorted out the problem, after buying a new router and finding out that i did not need it.
the problem was that there was interference from an AV sender in my room. Other things that may interfere are cordless phones. thanks everyone for helping |
