Connecting Two Wired Routers Together Options

Hello,

I am running a home network using windows XP home with 2 dell computers connected to one linksys wired broadband router (BEFSR41) with a 4 port bridge. I need to add an additional 4/more ports bridge to expand my connectivity to additional devices (usb hub, print server, external usb harddrives, scanner, laptop, xbox 360). To this end i wish to network a D-Link (DI-604) router with 4 additional ports to the single available port on my active router to attain an 8 port bridge. My computer shop informs me that adding any number of ports bridge to the active router is a simple setup.

I have some questions; is it possible to add the 4 port bridge feature of the DI-604 to my active router without requiring the broadband feature software setup?
If the ports can be used indenpendent of the broadband setup; is it feasable to connect the # 4 port line on my active router to the WAN port of the DI-604 to allow me full access to the 4 addition ports. Or should the # 4 port on my active router be connected to the # 4 port of the DI-604 to bypass broadband setup?

i believe it should go wan port to lan port. also a router isn't necessary, a hub will do very well and is much less expensive.

what you do is you set the dlink up as an ACCESS POINT ONLY and direct it to your other router so that connections made to the dlink are forwarded to the main router and then you get your internet connection.

PS all you need to is also plug the DLINK into the other router you will be ok it will work
