No Internet Options

ok so everything was working perfect. i unplugged a usb cable from the front of the tower and the computer restarted, this is nothing new. so it restarts fine but i have no internet. so i go to the device manager and it says my ethernet device does not have drivers installed. so i go to intels website and DL the driver for my correct mother board, i restart it and once again it says no drivers were installed. wtf please any advice would help me im stuck....... ps the network card is interrated on my motherboard. thanks guys

Dear friend, we need more info so help us help you. Please answer specifically and with detail, use your own verbiage:

• What USB device did you unplug?
• Does unplugging this cause the PC to reboot?
• If so, does the PC shut itself down? Explain the process, does it just snap off or does it go through the shutdown sequence? details...
• How exactly do you connect to the internet? Describe your layout.
• Are you sure you have the right drivers?
• Please post your system specs - os? 32/64bit? Motherboard model number or PC model number etc etc.
• What changed recently with your setup??! <---- !

OK, lets take a look at your device:
1. In device manager, right click the network card (should probably be a yellow triangle or red X) and select properties.
2. Go to details tab
3. Under "device instance ID" Please include the part with the numbers where it says VEN_####&DEV_###.

Lets look for more clues in the event viewer:
1. Right Click My computer
2. go to manage
3. click on the event viewer
4. Look through events in Application and System - browse around and look for anything obvious, pertaining to drivers, network card, windows installer etc etc. Try installing drivers and see what comes up too.

You should also look in:
1. Control Panel > Network Connections
2. What do you see? Screen-shot?

1. i just unplugged a usb to mini usb cable, it wasnt connected to anything at the time
2. yes once in a while this does cause it to turn off
3. it just snaps off, like if i were to pull the plug out of the wall
4. i am wired through a router from a cable modem
5. i am sure it is the correct drivers, it is the same one i used when i reformatted it a few months ago

Hmm.. that's tough, it feels like some odd hardware issue... So sometimes you unplug the cable causes the PC to powerdown? If so, I'm suspecting perhaps there's something wrong with your internals - i'm thinking along the lines of the motherboard having a crack, a loose component, loose power cables or even USB connectors, perhaps they're not connected to the motheboard correctly (sometimes the come in single connectors like here USB Header pictures), perhaps a loose screw rattling around?

Does jiggling the USB connection cause this? Perhaps there's something broken there that causes some kind of short? Lets try to recreate the issue - how would i be able replicate the crash? Does using another USB jack cause the same issue? does another USB cable do the same?

This still leaves us with the NIC issue. Again, make sure everything is seated in (may want to re-seat the parts and cables). Touch the case before touching any parts, unplug before working inside.

the PCI Database does not show any device for intel that's x0000 so this leads me to believe that its either a broken NIC or it needs to be re-seated. I could be wrong, but we should be seeing a dev number other than 0000's.

What do you mean by nothing is the sccreen shot?
