Can anyone help me understand how to repair my VAIO Recovery Wizard program? When I try to initiate it, I get an error message stating that the recovery partition can't be found? If I understand correctly, this seems to imply that the directing exe is missing and the computer can't follow the instruction to load the program because it doesn't have a pointer directing where the program can be found. Am I correct in my guess at trying to understand what's happening? What do I do?

The closest answer to your situation I could find is HERE. Also, yous should have an XP or Vista license number, either a sticker on your computer somewhere, or in your documentation that came with your computer. You can contact M/Soft for a copy of the Operating System. Also try Sony help.
