Hi beanie2blue, welcome to SAF

Have you an install disk from your camera ?
btw, can you provide your camera make and model ?

Have you tried to insert your restore disk when asked for this .dll file ?

Chris

Is the message about this .dll an error message or is the .dll file itself missing ?
If it's missing or corrupted, you can download it from here: http://www.dll-downloads.com/hosts.asp?fil...le=fnfilter.zip

If you do not have an install disk for it, the latest drivers, utilities and patches for your Olympus Camedia c370 zoom can be downloaded from http://www.olympus.co.jp/en/support/imsg/d...nload/software/

Ok... adding scanners and cameras from the device manager may be tricky if you do not know where the proper .inf files are...

At Olympus website (link posted above), there are proper patch files and drivers/utilities. Download them to a new folder. Go to your add/remove software, uninstall the previous Camedia softwares. Go to device manager and remove any cam you have tried to install and is not working (it will probably have an exclamation mark on it). Install the new drivers/softwares from the folder you created. Do not connect your camera until it's done. You probably will be prompted to reboot. If not, connect your camera (power on) and reboot.

Hi milly,

In theory, your OS must recognize your c-370 as a mass storage device and pop with a new folder on Internet Explorer as soon as you connect it to any USB port and power it up.

There are no known specific issues about this cam and Windows Millenium, so it's probably a driver issue... I am wondering if that .dll file you named before is not the culprit, although there is very few references to it.
You can try to download and install it, but I suggest you create a restore point first.

I had many problems with all the digital cameras my family have unless I acquired a USB card reader. Your c-370 use a XD card, that USB card readers deals perfectly with. (it's a very cheap solution and works on any computer I tried it) biggrin.gif

I will scout around more deeply and post back later. In the meantime, maybe some other members here can help you on this.

Chris

Sure you can. I upgraded mine from Win98 SE to XP pro with no problems biggrin.gif and I have only a 40 GB hard disk and 256 MB Ram.

I forgot to say that... some of my old programs did not run anymore on Win XP. (I reinstalled successfully two over 4 of them but found another new version which runs and definitely lost only the oldest)

All this didn't affected me soo much, so I never remember it lol.gif
The overall advantages are better than some few inconveniences.
It also took me some days to set it up as I wanted, but it works fine now.

Are you now able to play with your camera pictures ?

1113 error is "source file not found". It may be a corrupted media...
What software are you trying to install ?

Is it Microsoft Autoroute ? It is 100% compliant with Windows XP...
QUOTE
1 GB of available hard disk space for standard installation (500 MB for minimum installation); some users may require up to an extra 100 MB for System Files Update (hard disk usage will vary depending on configuration)

I recommend that you reload all your specific motherboard/chipset video drivers, as WinXP may have replaced some with its own drivers.

Don't panic milly biggrin.gif

Just say what you have doing just before it happened. Please give all details and, if possible, any error code or message on this blue screen.

You may also try to boot in safe mode (by tapping F8 on boot) and do a system restore to the point just before. (It will probably prompt you to select "last good -or working- configuration").

Chris

Ok, you were doing the right thing. Does your computer boots after that ?
QUOTE
A mini dump is a tiny 64K-byte file. One reason it's so small is that it doesn't contain any of the binary or executable files that are in memory at the time of a system crash. The .exes are needed for full and proper crash analysis, therefore, mini dumps are of limited value without them.
When XP system crashes for any reason, it tries to dump files from memory to the hard disk.

You should be able to reboot in safe mode and restore the previous configuration... some Windows updates may causes crashes, mostly if it loaded and tried to install some corrupted file.
